Styled Stock Society: An Honest Review

How much time do you spend looking for the perfect photo? Whether it’s for your website or your next social media post, we all know the importance of using a high quality image that resonates with our target audience. The quality of images you use across your marketing materials can have an impact on how your brand is perceived. Blurry and outdated photos can make a website feel unprofessional and messy, leading to a loss in credibility and trust from your ideal clients. On the other hand, sharp, well composed images can elevate your brand, making it look polished and authoritative.

What are stock photos?
Stock photos are professionally shot images available for licensing. They provide an easy and affordable way to enhance websites, social media, and marketing materials without the need for custom photography.

Why invest in a stock photography membership?
Joining a stock photography membership is more cost effective than hiring a professional photographer. While you may want to hire a photographer to take some headshots and other photos of you (and I recommend that you do), having a photographer capture flatlays and mock up templates isn’t necessarily the best use of the time that you have hired them for. You can save money here by joining an exclusive stock photography membership and use the stock photos to complement the photos that you have had taken professionally.
The photos and videos within the membership are all generally edited in the same way, meaning that they all have the same style and aesthetic. This saves a lot of time hunting around on free stock photo sites for images that work well together, that are also on brand for you.
By joining a smaller community that isn’t free, you gain access to photos that aren’t readily available, making it easier to stand out in your industry. You will also have access to new content, which tends to be seasonal, so you can keep your own content fresh and up to date easily.
Stock photography memberships aren’t limited to just photos either.

The Photo and Video Library
Styled Stock Society* offers an extensive library of over 10,000+ stock photos and videos. New photos are added weekly. The photos and videos are all feminine in style and cover lots of different categories, such as lifestyle shots, mock up templates and flatlay images.
It’s easy to find the perfect photos and videos without having to trawl through them all. All the photos and videos have been categorised into different sections such as: workspace, lifestyle, wellness, nature, food etc. This is the first step to narrowing down your search.
You can narrow your search down further by using the colour filter. This makes it simple to find photos that complement your brand colours. You can also search using the People Filter. You can search for images with no people, one person, two people or more. You can also search for people of a specific ethnicity.
If you are looking for photos with a particular orientation, there is a checkbox filter to search for portrait, landscape or square.
There is also a keyword search function to find specific images. For example, if I wanted a photo of flowers in a vase, all I need to do is type those words into the search bar and I will get a selection of images that are relevant.
The Styled Stock Society team also curates the images into groups of similar images called Collections. If you want the images on your website, or social feeds, to all have the same vibe, this is a great way to find photos that are all different but cohesive.
The number of photos and videos you download is unlimited with all of their membership options (more on membership options later).
Customisable Canva Templates
With a Styled Stock Society membership you will have access to 2,500+ Canva templates that can be customised with your branding colours and fonts, saving you a ton of time with the design process. You’ll need a Canva Pro membership to use these templates, but there are video tutorials that show you how to use them within the membership

Monthly Social Media Caption Guides
Every month, the Styled Stock Society team creates a spreadsheet that contains social media caption prompts for each day of the month. You’ll also get a template, an example and an image so all you have to do is customise then upload to social media. This feature has definitely been the biggest time saver for me.
What does a Styled Stock Society Membership cost?
At the time of writing (March 2025), this is what it costs to join Styled Stock Society*:
Quarterly - $45 a month - billed quarterly
Annual - $395 - billed annually
Lifetime - $995 - one off payment
I’ve included a screenshot below to show that there is no difference in the level of access between the membership options. Whether you sign up quarterly, annually or monthly, you still have access to all their resources. The only difference is that with a quarterly and annual subscription, you will lose access when your subscription expires. A lifetime subscription will allow you access to all the future content that is added.
Room for improvement
This is an honest review, and as with anything, there are downsides too. The biggest one for me is the limited amount of video content. While there are good quality new videos uploaded regularly, Styled Stock Society definitely do focus on the images more which means that in comparison there is not as much video content. Other stock photography membership sites may do more video content than Styled Stock Society.
The other downside for me is the cost. Styled Stock Society is on the lower end of the spectrum compared with other sites that offer similar, but individuals and small businesses who are just starting out may still find this too expensive. I’d love to see them roll out a more cost effective plan - perhaps a one month option or an option with limited access - to make this more affordable for those just starting out who still want a strong online presence.
Styled Stock Society Review - Is It Worth the Splurge?
In a nutshell - yes! I know the idea of signing up for a stock photo subscription may seem frivolous, but for those who want a strong online presence with good quality photos, and a seamless look across their website and social media platforms, the cost is worth it. You can always sign up for a quarterly subscription and download the photos and videos you need and then cancel. You can use those same photos and videos for years to come, which will only serve to strengthen your brand identity.
I took the leap earlier this year and signed up and I have not regretted it. Styled Stock Society upload high quality content weekly which keeps things fresh. I have found their Canva templates to be comprehensive and very easy to use. And their monthly social media caption guide has been a big timesaver.
